About SJS Training
SJS Training was founded in 2005 by Sarah Stockwell. Sarah is an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who has a passion for animals and education.
SJS Training became a registered centre with the Awarding Body ABC Awards in 2005 and also at this time were approved to deliver the Level 2 Certificate for Animal Nursing Assistants qualification.
We are proud to boast consistently higher than national average pass rates* and welcome all students regardless of age, experience and practice size.
Sarah says
“I knew from an early age that I wanted to work with animals and after gaining vital work experience at school I decided that Veterinary Nursing was the career choice for me. I was extremely lucky to secure a training placement at the PDSA in Batley in 1992.
The centre was extremely busy and provided me with a vast range of invaluable experience. I remained there for 6 years progressing from Trainee Veterinary Nurse, to Qualified Veterinary Nurse and enjoyed (almost!) every minute of it. I then decided to broaden my horizons and moved into private practice where I had a range of positions from Head Nurse to Practice Manager.
In 2003 I moved into education and worked as a lecturer at a local Technical College teaching on a range of courses from NVQ Level 1 in Animal Care to Higher National Diploma in Animal Management.
I wanted to return to my roots however and so became employed within a Private Training Company working on the Veterinary Nursing and Animal Care Team. This company yielded a wide variety of roles for me and eventually I became the General Manager.
It was whilst working for this company that I realised the need for the Correspondence Course and began to put my ideas into reality. The company sadly closed in 2005 but happily resulted in the birth of SJS Training!”
We have continued to deliver a high quality of education and are now pleased to be offering the new Animal Nursing Assistants Certificate plus we will also be adding the Award to our portfolio shortly (expected start date January 2012).
